In this garden focus tour we enjoy a guided tour of the National Botanical Gardens in Chantilly, VA. The
Garden is dedicated to providing a retreat from the stresses of daily life in a unique and whimsical
atmosphere, combining art, nature, education and research into a fascinating whole. This is not an ordinary
“garden”, starting out with its being the world’s largest constructed garden, equivalent to the Hoover Dam
construction with the massive amount of material used. Second half of the day is dedicated to the
Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. Meadowlark is a bold, yet intimate space. Quiet and insulated from
urbanity, but replete with nature’s bounty; birds sing, cherry trees bloom, frogs jump, Koi swim intently and dozens of turtles bask in the mid-day sun.
